How it works
Your nervous system has two main parts. The central nervous system is your brain and spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system is all the nerves that connect your spinal cord to the rest of your body. Together, your brain and spinal cord act as your body's main control center. Your brain is responsible for your thoughts, emotions, memories, and behaviors. Nerves carry messages back and forth between your brain and your whole body.
